Frequently Asked Questions

bulletWhat are the clinic hours?
bulletMonday - Friday : 9:00am - 5:30 pm
bulletWhat type of insurance is accepted?
bulletOur physicians participate in most major health plans in the Augusta Area. We participate in all Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross, United Health Care, and State Health plans (i.e. Medicaid / Peachcare) to name a few. The only major area in which we we have some limitations are those health plans under the University Hospital Health Link System. If you question whether we are a participant on your plan, please call your insurance carrier and also check with our office as some carriers are not up to date in their listings.
bulletWhen is my child's pediatrician's day off?
bulletOur full-time doctors have very busy schedules including clinic duties, hospital rounds and administrative work. They also see patients during weekends. In order to catch up on paperwork and have some free time, our doctors are "off" one weekday. These "off" days are
bulletDr. Billingsley - Wednesdays
bulletDr. Kappes - Thursdays
bulletDr. Rosa - Tuesdays
bulletOne of the other two pediatricians in our group will gladly see your child if an acute problem arises on his/her doctor's day off.
bulletWhat services are available on weekends and after hours?
bulletPediatricare PM is our after hours, urgent care clinic. It is also available on weekends. The clinic is closed for major holidays. For more information, click on the link below:

bulletNurse Triage - On Call
bulletAfter our offices are closed you can still obtain advice for your child. We have subscribed to the University Nurse Triage System. A registered nurse is on call at all times to answer your question about childhood illness whenever we are not in the office. If the nurse or you feel you need to talk to the pediatrician on call they will be paged and call you back. Simply call our office number and our answering system will direct you with your needs.

Office Building

As soon as you drive up to the office building you will find plenty of parking space as well as a portico at the front entrance to keep you dry during bad weather. The reception area leads to separate well child and sick child waiting areas. Children 13 years of age and older can use the separate adolescent waiting area (complete with video games). Exam rooms are child friendly and brightly decorated with TV's to watch while waiting for the doctor. We have taken every step to minimize wait time and tried to make any waiting more pleasant with this layout.
